Who we are

Magic Smoke Inc. is a Delaware corporation based in Dallas, Texas. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use magicsmoke.ai (the “Service”).

Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and display name through Firebase Authentication.

Profile information. During onboarding, we ask about your hardware experience level and software experience level to personalize your experience.

Project data. Everything you create in Magic Smoke is stored in our database, including project descriptions, parts lists, build instructions, code instructions, wiring diagrams, and design images.

Chat messages. When you use the project chat assistant, your messages are sent to our AI providers to generate responses. Chat history is stored for the duration of your session.

Usage data. We track interactions like which components you click on in your parts list to improve recommendations and understand how the product is used. We also use Firebase Analytics to collect standard usage metrics.

Waitlist. If you join our waitlist, we store your email address.

How we use your information

• To provide and operate the Service
• To generate project plans, parts lists, instructions, and design images using AI
• To personalize your experience based on your skill level
• To improve the product based on usage patterns
• To communicate with you about your account or the Service

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Magic Smoke:

• Google Firebase for authentication, database, file storage, and analytics
• Google Gemini for AI-powered project generation, chat responses, and design image creation
• Vercel for hosting

Your project descriptions and chat messages are sent to these AI providers to generate responses. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Cloud Storage) and protected by Firebase security rules that restrict access to your own data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Design images are stored in Firebase Cloud Storage.

Published projects

If you choose to publish a project, a copy of your project name, summary, parts list, build instructions, and design images will be made publicly visible. You can unpublish at any time.

Data deletion

You can delete individual projects from your dashboard at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at privacy@magicsmoke.ai.

Children

Magic Smoke is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service.
